AI autocompletion in Visual Studio 2022 seems more useful than GitHub Copilot - It's not as advanced, but it can be trained on your own C# or C++ codebase so that it suggest things that are actually relevant.

#DigitalOcean is even less competitive with other providers now that they're increasing their prices by ~20%. $28/m for 4GB RAM + 80GB space (their new pricing for Premium Droplets) is easily beaten by other hosts. I'm not exactly sure what their competitive advantage is any more

Even if you just stick to well-known hosts, Hetzner CPX21 is literally a quarter of the price for the same specs and more traffic, and it's available in the USA. Contabo is ~$7/m (not prem though), HostHatch is $9/m, BuyVM is $15/m. Not sure how DO will compete at $28/m...

Hey friends - we've open sourced the code to 1995's Microsoft 3D Movie Maker github.com/microsoft/Microso… Thanks to @jeffwilcox and the Microsoft OSS office as well our friends in legal and those who continue to put up with me being a nudzh. Thanks to @foone for the idea! Enjoy.
hey @Microsoft give me the source code to 3D Movie Maker. You released it in 1995 and I want to expand and extend it. my DMs are open, I'll help you open source it.

The Twitter PWA has some strange bug where whenever I tap any notification, it goes to @tweet's profile 🤔

Lexical is now open-source! 🎉github.com/facebook/lexical None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for the awesome team that work on Lexical full-time! I hope folks get a chance to play around with what we've spent the last 18 months building.

I’ve got too many servers/VPSes so it’s time to consolidate things. Goodbye 209.141.56.29. You served me well for close to 10 years, through various upgrades over the years.

I’m taking some time off writing OSS code. I’m tired of entitlement, of lack of assistance, lack of support from the community. It’s making me utterly miserable. I make barely any money from license sales and have a super low contribution base. It’s a failure.

For the record, both @WHO and @CDCDirector just said not to do this. Science, healthcare, and public health professionals, and especially infectious disease epidemiologists are yelling to keep mask requirements. Every response here says it's a mistake. Who wants this?
In alignment with the State, SF along with other Bay Area counties will lift universal mask requirements for most indoor public settings beginning Wednesday, Feb. 16. Masks, however, are still strongly recommended. Read more at sf.gov/news/11-bay-area-heal….

A little surreal that we’re in the second-deadliest period of the entire two-year pandemic, and also very clearly in the “welp, time to wrap it up” phase of the public health response.

This looks like a rehash of a lazy support person's response, lol. "yeah just restart it 10 times and call me back if it's still having problems"
Why are seemingly random tweets in my notifications? How do I get rid of these "recent tweet" notifis? 90% of the time they're from people I don't even follow.

This is why you shouldn't do authorization in the API code itself — it's easy to not do it properly, particularly as new APIs are added. Authorization should consistently apply regardless of the API tech (whether that's GraphQL, REST, SOAP, etc). Do it at a lower layer.

Didn't think I'd get anything for Black Friday, but I ended up getting a dedicated server for $199/year (lowendtalk.com/discussion/co…). Time to consolidate a few VPSes onto it.
